Second Lieutenant George Horace Morgan was a soldier in the U.S. Army who received the Medal of Honor for his actions on July 17, 1882 in Big Dry Fork, Arizona during the Indian Campaigns. At the time he was serving with 3d U.S. Cavalry. Morgan was 27 years old.
3 other service members also received the Medal of Honor for actions on the same day. The medal was presented on July 15, 1892, 9 years after the action. He later rose to the rank of Colonel.
Morgan was born on January 1, 1855 in St. Catharines, Canada — one of 60 recipients born in Canada. His Medal of Honor is credited to Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Morgan died on February 14, 1948 in Washington, District of Columbia, at the age of 93. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. His medal is held by West Point Museum (1863 design), West Point, NY.
