Serving as a soldier in the U.S. Army, First Lieutenant George Emerson Albee received the Medal of Honor for his actions on October 28, 1869 at Brazos River, Texas during the Indian Campaigns. At the time he was serving with Company L, 41st U.S. Infantry. Albee was 24 years old.
The medal was presented on January 18, 1894, 24 years after the action. He later rose to the rank of Captain.
Albee was born on January 27, 1845 in Lisbon, Grafton County, New Hampshire. His Medal of Honor is credited to Owatonna, Steele County, Minnesota. Albee died on March 24, 1918 in Laurel, Maryland, at the age of 73. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
Albee is one of 426 Medal of Honor recipients from the Indian Campaigns and one of 45 credited to Minnesota.

George Emerson Albee (January 27, 1845 – March 24, 1918) was an officer in the United States Army who received the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Indian Wars. During the Civil War, he fought with Berdan's Sharpshooters, the Wisconsin light artillery, the U.S. Colored Infantry, and the U.S. Regular Army.
