Corporal Wilbur Nelson Taylor was a soldier in the U.S. Army who received the Medal of Honor for his actions on August 22, 1868 vicinity of the Black Mountains, Arizona during the Indian Campaigns. At the time he was serving with Company K, 8th U.S. Cavalry. Taylor was 21 years old.
11 other service members also received the Medal of Honor for actions on the same day. The medal was presented on September 6, 1869. He later rose to the rank of Sergeant.
Taylor was born on December 2, 1846 in Hampden, Penobscot County, Maine. His Medal of Honor is credited to Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. Taylor died on November 20, 1903 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 56. He is buried at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Taylor is one of 426 Medal of Honor recipients from the Indian Campaigns and one of 265 credited to Massachusetts.

Wilbur Nelson Taylor (December 2, 1846 – November 20, 1903) was an American soldier in the U.S. Army who served with the 8th U.S. Cavalry during the Indian Wars. He was one of eight men who received the Medal of Honor for "bravery in scouts and actions with indians" while fighting the Apache in the Arizona Territory during 1868 and 1869.
