Sergeant Milden H. Wilson, a soldier in the U.S. Army, received the Medal of Honor for gallantry on August 9, 1877 in Big Hole, Montana during the Indian Campaigns. At the time he was serving with Company I, 7th U.S. Infantry. Wilson was 30 years old.
5 other service members also received the Medal of Honor for actions on the same day. The medal was presented on December 2, 1878. He later rose to the rank of Ordnance Sergeant.
Wilson was born on July 25, 1847 in Huron County, Ohio. His Medal of Honor is credited to Newark, Licking County, Ohio. Wilson died on February 5, 1924 in Lawrence Park, Erie County, Pennsylvania, at the age of 76. He is buried at Erie Cemetery in Erie, Pennsylvania.
