Private Allen Walker, a soldier in the U.S. Army, received the Medal of Honor for gallantry on December 30, 1891 in Texas during the Indian Campaigns. At the time he was serving with Company C, 3d U.S. Cavalry. Walker was 25 years old.
The medal was presented on April 25, 1892. He later rose to the rank of Captain.
Walker was born on January 19, 1866 in Patriot, Switzerland County, Indiana. His Medal of Honor is credited to Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. Walker died on September 11, 1953 in Laredo, Texas, at the age of 87. He is buried at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Laredo, Texas.
Walker is one of 426 Medal of Honor recipients from the Indian Campaigns and one of 256 credited to Ohio.
