Private William M. charlie Horton was a Marine in the U.S. Marine Corps who received the Medal of Honor for his actions between July 21 and August 17, 1900 in Peking, China during the Boxer Rebellion. At the time he was serving with U.S.S. Oregon. Horton was 24 years old.
12 other service members also received the Medal of Honor for actions on the same day. The medal was presented on January 5, 1902. He later rose to the rank of Sergeant.
Horton was born on July 21, 1876 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. His Medal of Honor is credited to Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Horton died on February 14, 1969 in Seattle, Washington, at the age of 92. He is buried at Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Park in Seattle, Washington.

William Charlie Horton (July 21, 1876 – February 14, 1969) was a United States Marine and a recipient of the United States military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions during the Boxer Rebellion. Horton served in the American Chinese Relief Expedition during the Boxer Rebellion as a private in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions at Peking, China. His Medal was issued on July 19, 1901. He is buried at Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery in Seattle, Washington.
