Sergeant William Osborne, a soldier in the U.S. Army, received the Medal of Honor for gallantry in 1872 in Apache campaigns during the Indian Campaigns. At the time he was serving with Company M, 1st U.S. Cavalry. Osborne was about 35 years old.
