Corporal Frank Lafayette Anders was a soldier in the U.S. Army who received the Medal of Honor for his actions on May 13, 1899 in San Miguel de Mayumo, Luzon, Philippine Islands during the Philippine Insurrection. At the time he was serving with Company B, 1st North Dakota Volunteer Infantry. Anders was 23 years old.
7 other service members also received the Medal of Honor for actions on the same day. The medal was presented on March 3, 1906, 6 years after the action. He later rose to the rank of Major.
Anders was born on November 10, 1875 in Fort Lincoln, Morton County, North Dakota. His Medal of Honor is credited to Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota. Anders died on January 20, 1966, at the age of 90. He is buried at Hill Side Cemetery in Ripon, Wisconsin.
Anders is one of 82 Medal of Honor recipients from the Philippine Insurrection and one of 19 credited to North Dakota.

With 11 other scouts, without waiting for the supporting battalion to aid them or to get into a position to do so, charged over a distance of about 150 yards and completely routed about 300 of the enemy who were in line and in a position that could only be carried by a frontal attack.

Frank LaFayette Anders (November 10, 1875 – January 23, 1966) was a United States Army soldier who received the congressional Medal of Honor for actions during the Philippine–American War (a.k.a. Filipino Insurrection), 1899-1902. He went on to become a noteworthy engineer, businessman, amateur military historian and politician.
