Captain Clinton Albert Cilley was a soldier in the U.S. Army who received the Medal of Honor for his actions on September 20, 1863 in Chickamauga, Georgia during the Civil War. At the time he was serving with Company C, 2d Minnesota Infantry. Cilley was 26 years old.
4 other service members also received the Medal of Honor for actions on the same day. The medal was presented on June 12, 1895, 31 years after the action. He later rose to the rank of Brevet Colonel.
Cilley was born on February 16, 1837 in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. His Medal of Honor is credited to Wasioja, Dodge County, Minnesota. Cilley died on May 9, 1900 in Morgantown, North Carolina, at the age of 63. He is buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Hickory, North Carolina.
