Corporal Antoine August Gaujot was a soldier in the U.S. Army who received the Medal of Honor for his actions on December 19, 1899 in San Mateo, Luzon, Philippine Islands during the Philippine Insurrection. At the time he was serving with Company M, 27th Infantry, U.S. Volunteers. Gaujot was about 20 years old.
One other service member also received the Medal of Honor for actions on the same day. The medal was presented on 1911, 12 years after the action.
Gaujot was born in 1879 in Keweenaw County, Michigan. His Medal of Honor is credited to Williamson, Mingo County, West Virginia. Gaujot died on April 14, 1936, at the age of about 57. He is buried at Fairview Cemetery in Williamson, West Virginia.
Gaujot is one of 82 Medal of Honor recipients from the Philippine Insurrection and one of 45 credited to West Virginia.
