Corporal James Monroe Reisinger was a soldier in the U.S. Army who received the Medal of Honor for his actions on July 1, 1863 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania during the Civil War. At the time he was serving with Company H, 150th Pennsylvania Infantry. Reisinger was 20 years old.
9 other service members also received the Medal of Honor for actions on the same day. He later rose to the rank of First Lieutenant.
Reisinger was born on October 28, 1842 in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. His Medal of Honor is credited to Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania. Reisinger died on May 25, 1925 in Franklin, Pennsylvania, at the age of 82. He is buried at Greenville Cemetery in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Records also list him as Reisinger, Roe.
Reisinger is one of 1,525 Medal of Honor recipients from the Civil War and one of 380 credited to Pennsylvania.

An article published on Feburary 2, 1907, in the Army and Navy Journal gives greater detail to Cpl. Reisinger's actions at Gettysburg that resulted in the Medal of Honor. He "was one of the color guard. He was wounded early in the afternoon by a minnie ball penetrating his right foot, causing later the removal of two bones from his foot, with the result of permanent lameness because of that injury. Notwithstanding he was urged by his comrades to go to the hospital for treament, he continued to perform his duty as a soldier until wounded three times, when weakness from injuries and from loss of blood compelled his retirement."
