Sergeant Henry M. Fox was a soldier in the U.S. Army who received the Medal of Honor for his actions on September 19, 1864 in Winchester, Virginia during the Civil War. At the time he was serving with Company M, 5th Michigan Cavalry. Fox was 19 years old.
14 other service members also received the Medal of Honor for actions on the same day. The medal was presented on September 27, 1864. He later rose to the rank of Second Lieutenant.
Fox was born on November 15, 1844 in Trumbull County, Ohio. His Medal of Honor is credited to Coldwater, Branch County, Michigan. Fox died on March 2, 1923, at the age of 78. He is buried at Mottville Cemetery in Mottville, Michigan.
