Corporal Henry E. Plant was a soldier in the U.S. Army who received the Medal of Honor for his actions on March 19, 1865 in Bentonville, North Carolina during the Civil War. At the time he was serving with Company F, 14th Michigan Infantry. Plant was 23 years old.
3 other service members also received the Medal of Honor for actions on the same day. The medal was presented on April 27, 1896, 31 years after the action. He later rose to the rank of Color Sergeant.
Plant was born on October 11, 1841 in Oswego County, New York. His Medal of Honor is credited to Cockery, Michigan. Plant died on April 16, 1925, at the age of 83. He is buried at Nunica Cemetery in Nunica, Michigan.
