Colonel Henry Capehart was a soldier in the U.S. Army who received the Medal of Honor for his actions on May 22, 1864 at Greenbrier River, West Virginia during the Civil War. At the time he was serving with 1st West Virginia Cavalry. Capehart was 39 years old.

The medal was presented on February 12, 1895, 30 years after the action. He later rose to the rank of Major General.

Capehart was born on March 18, 1825 in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. His Medal of Honor is credited to Bridgeport, Belmont County, Ohio. Capehart died on April 15, 1895 in Fargo, North Dakota, at the age of 70. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
