Colonel Charles Henry tucky Collis was a soldier in the U.S. Army who received the Medal of Honor for his actions on December 13, 1862 in Fredericksburg, Virginia during the Civil War. At the time he was serving with (Collis' Regiment, Zouaves d'Afrique), 114th Pennsylvania Infantry. Collis was 24 years old.
17 other service members also received the Medal of Honor for actions on the same day. The medal was presented on March 10, 1893, 30 years after the action. He later rose to the rank of Brevet Major General.
Collis was born on February 4, 1838 in Cork, County Cork, Ireland — one of 258 recipients born in Ireland. His Medal of Honor is credited to Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Collis died on May 11, 1902 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, at the age of 64. He is buried at Gettysburg National Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
