Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Barclay Spurling was a soldier in the U.S. Army who received the Medal of Honor for his actions on March 23, 1865 in Evergreen, Alabama during the Civil War. At the time he was serving with 2d Maine Cavalry. Spurling was 32 years old.
The medal was presented on September 10, 1897, 32 years after the action. He later rose to the rank of Brevet Brigadier General.
Spurling was born on March 20, 1833 in Cranberry Isles, Hancock County, Maine. His Medal of Honor is credited to Augusta, Kennebec County, Maine. Spurling died on August 13, 1906 in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 73. He is buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois. His medal is held by Maine Military Historical Museum, Camp Keyes, Augusta, ME.

Andrew Barclay Spurling (March 20, 1833 – August 22, 1906) was an American officer in the Union Army. Serving in the American Civil War, he was awarded the Medal of Honor. He also worked as a merchant ship captain, sheriff, cowboy, gold prospector, businessman, and real estate investor.
